The Permission to Begin
Somehow I needed the permission to begin. There’s something both exciting and terrifying about creating something new — especially when it asks you to change directions and ultimately be seen in a different way. Building the Soul Trip podcast has been exactly that for me.
For a long time, Soul Trip lived quietly in my head as an idea. A feeling, really. Something that was asking for a chance to be heard, even though I wasn’t quite sure how to bring it to life.
It began as a deep curiosity about the moments in life that change us and the conversations we don’t have nearly enough about how people actually move through them.
Not just what happened.
But what helped.
The more people I spoke to over the years, the more I realized how much wisdom lives inside the stories we often keep hidden — stories about resilience, reinvention, grief, healing, identity, hope, and the unexpected ways people find their way back to themselves after life changes course.
So much of what fills our feeds and news cycles is built around shock, fear, and negativity. I wanted to create a space that felt thoughtful, inspiring, hopeful, and calm.
Starting this podcast has been its own kind of Soul Trip.
There have been microphones spread across my dining room table, endless edits, second-guessing, moments of excitement, moments of fear, and a lot of learning as I slowly build something that feels honest and meaningful to me.
But underneath all of it is one simple hope:
That these conversations help people feel inspired, connected, understood, and a little less alone. My hope is that this podcast becomes a space where people feel safe to reflect, reconnect, and maybe even see parts of themselves in someone else’s story.
Thank you for being here at the very beginning. I truly can’t wait to share these stories with you.
Come… let’s go on a Soul Trip.
